Sammy is OK, He is definitely outside of the "jam band" scene and not a good fit musically for that many songs so I can understand people thinking he is irritating but in his defense he is a "front man" in a heavy metal band and is just doing what comes natural to him. Musically I give the show 3 stars but some great covers outside of the dead repertoire so I raised it to 4 stars

I visited Bohemia Waterfall Park once when I lived in Sebastopol, a really pristine, magical place-- it was wonderful that this show was arranged to fight for saving it. Although I wasn't able to be there that night, a good friend who made it said she usually enjoyed it in spite of Hagar's overbearing approach to the music. To follow up to "Jack Straw"'s comment below on the hot percussion during IKO> NFA...sure, Mickey is everpresent, but what's really cool listening to this is knowing that it's John Molo's first show with Phil.

This could be a great show, as it was the first time Phil played with Bobby and Mickey after his liver transplant. The first two songs, Playin and Jane are great, but once Sammy Hagar comes out the show just goes downhill. Sammy brings the heavy metal guitar sound and in my opinion drowns out the great playing by Phil and Kimock. But it's not just his guitar, but he seems to take over on vocals (at one point the crowd begins a "Let Phil Sing Chant") and is constantly giving vocal cues to the other artists (Ok Phil lets hear it). The sound quality is good and its great to hear Bobby and Mickey back with with Phil again, but Sammy is just to damn annoying to listen to this show again.
The highlights are Phil singinn Tom Thumbs blues and the percussion on Iko->NFA!
